12 #WomenWithDegrees tweets that make a powerful statement for women everywhere

Impact

For the first time in U.S. history, women are more likely to have bachelor's degrees than men.

In 2015, according to Time, 37.5% of women between the ages of 25 and 34 had college degrees, compared to 29.5% percent of men.

There's even more good news.

Black women are now the most educated group in the country.

In 2016, according to the Independent, about 9.7% of black women were enrolled in college — more than any other ethnic or gender demographic. Also, out of all degrees earned by black students, black women earned 66% of bachelor's degrees, 71% of master's degrees and 65% of doctorate degrees, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

The Twitter hashtag #WomenWithDegrees is a powerful ode to the women that broke these barriers.

While it's important not to base a woman's intelligence on whether she earned a college degree, seeing these women accomplish their goals and soar higher is certainly inspirational.
