Video captures terrifying moment tornado wipes out Indiana Starbucks

Impact

Multiple tornadoes ravaged parts of Indiana and Ohio on Wednesday, the Weather Channel reported, destroying buildings and forcing a state of emergency in Howard County, Indiana.

In that county's city of Kokomo, video footage captured from behind the bar at a local establishment showed the storm demolishing a local Starbucks. Posted by WTHR-TV, the video zooms directly in at the coffee franchise's logo before the tornado knocks over the entire structure.

According to a company statement sent to ABC affiliate RTV6, Starbucks is "relieved to report all partners (employees) and customers from the Starbucks store at US 35 & SR 22 are safe. We will continue to support our store partners and local authorities in any way we can."

WLS-TV reported central and north Indiana saw at least six tornado touchdowns, while Indiana Department of Homeland Security spokesman John Erickson said nearly 32,000 homes in the region were reported without power.

WTHR staff posted additional photos of damage to Twitter.

In Ohio, tornadoes and structural damage were reported as storms pushed northeast, according to the Weather Channel.

Despite the widespread damage, no deaths or injuries have been reported at this time.
