After a tumultous week in which she faced harsh criticism for lip-syncing the national anthem at President Obama's second inauguration, Beyonce brought her A-game at the Super Bowl for her Super Bowl halftime show.
Wearing a stunning, and intimidating black suit with facial expressions which was intense and at times scary, Beyonce performed a series of her greatest hits, including "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy." The highlight was the moment when Destiny's Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland emerged from beneath the stage to perform their smash hit "Booylicious" and a Beyonce song "Single Ladies."
The performance featured all kinds of lights, smoke, fire, musical instruments, and dancers. What's more, Beyonce confirmed that she performed this one live. "I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed. This is what I was born to do."
In terms of sheer numbers, this is one of the biggest musical events of the year, with 3 million more people tuning in for the halftime show than the game itself.
