ABC's Splash premieres Tuesday, April 2, 2013. The show formerly titled Celebrity Diving, is a spin-off of the British show of the same name — where London 2013 Olympic champion Tom Daley mentors celebrities in the art and sport of diving (think DWTS but in bikinis and Speedos).
And Miss Alabama USA 2012 Katherine Webb is taking advantage of her 15 minutes of fame after being shouted out by ESPN announcer Brent Musburger at the 2013 Discover BCS National Championship Game (Webb is Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend).
Webb, as well as other celebrities including one of Hugh Hefner's three three girlfriends in E!'s The Girls Next Door Kendra Leigh Baskett, will train and compete in regulation platform and springboard diving at "dizzying heights in front of a weekly poolside audience" — according to ABC's website.
The show, a new and welcomed excuse to show more celebrities in bikinis and Speedos, will be mentored by U.S. Olympic diver Greg Louganis and judged by London 2012 U.S. Olympic gold medalist David Boudia and Team USA director Steve Foley.
