Ted Cruz Filibuster: Rand Paul Tags Out, But For How Long?

Impact

Throughout the day, Rand Paul has taken numerous "breaks" from his filibuster to yield for questions from sympathetic colleagues, such as Ted Cruz, who may take as much time as they would like to ask them. This has given Paul the chance to leave the Senate chamber throughout the day in order to tend to ... ahem ... other business.

The filibuster is now 11 hours and 10 minutes old, and Ted Cruz has speaking for what seems like at least 20 minutes straight. Cruz has been instrumental throughout the day in providing Paul with several respites. Cruz won election handily in Texas in November after riding a wave of Tea Party support.
