Game Time 101: Super Bowl 2012 Kickoff Time, Superbowl Recipies, and NY Giants vs. New England Patriots

After two long weeks of anticipation, Super Bowl Sunday is finally here, and the New York Giants and New England Patriots are set to square off in tonight's contest. Last year's contest had over 111 million viewers, making it the most watched television program in U.S. history, and this year's showdown will be no different.

From the intensity of the competition to Madonna's headline half-time performance and the $3.5 million spent on every television advertisement, Super Bowl 2012 is a full sporting, entertainment, and money-making spectacle. As you gear up for tonight's contest, here are some answers to your top questions:

When is Super Bowl 2012 Kickoff Time? Game time is scheduled for 6:29 p.m. EST. The game will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The game will be televised on NBC, led by announcers Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, and Michele Tafoya.

Pregame coverage began on NFL Networks "GameDay Morning" at 9:00 a.m. ESPN's pregame coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. NBC began its broadcast with "Road to the Super Bowl" starting at 12:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed live online for free at NFL.com and NBCSports.com. The online feed will feature additional camera angles, and in-game statistics.

Super Bowl Recipies. Americans consume 1.25 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday, and it's the second biggest food consumption day of the year, topped only by Thanksgiving. We'll also consume 46 million pounds of potato chips, 177 million pounds of pretzels, totilla chips, and popcorn, and 71 million pounds of avocados.

If you plan on making chili for the game, here's my favorite recipe for Braised Brisket & Short Rib Chili courtesy of Bravo TV. You'll need to smoke your meat early though. Otherwise, Epicurious has tons of recipes you can choose from here. To complement the chili, go for Beer Bread, Corn Bread, or just some Fritos (Southern style, of course).

NY Giants vs. New England Patriots. This year’s Big Game is a faceoff between long-time rivals, the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The Patriots will be sporting their home blue uniforms and the Giants will be clad in white. Starting QBs, Tom Brady and Eli Manning will battle it out. For a complete primer for the non fan, here's a great Super Bowl for dummies article.

With only a few hours remaining before the game, it's time to start cooking and preparing for the game!
