An adorable 73-year old Limington, Maine man named Robert McDonough, who had been reported as missing 16 hours earlier, was found alive and well on Tuesday morning when he walked up to the very news crew who was reporting on the story surrounding his disappearance and search efforts.

McDonough, who suffers from dementia, approached the WMTW News 8 anchor/reporter, Norm Karkos, around 6:30 PM, shortly after Karkos had given an update on the missing man’s situation on Gammon Road, where McDonough lives. McDonough walked up to the crew and began chatting with Karkos, identifying himself as Robert McDonough.

The news crew immediately notified the Maine Warden Service, which had spent the night searching for McDonough.

“Well sometimes timing is everything, Erin and Shannon,” Karkos told fellow anchors Erin Ovalle and Shannon Moss. “And good news, and a happy ending right now. The gentleman behind us, you’re looking at, that is Robert McDonough.”
