On Thursday night, sustainable fashion startup Modavanti.com teamed up with Aushim Raswant, producer and creative director of 3vNYC, to throw New York’s first ever flash fashion show with a series of three flash fashion mobs around the city. Modavanti brought sustainable fashion to the streets of New York with flash mob style runway shows to highlight it’s mission of making sustainable sexy.

Set against the backdrop of New York City's most iconic landmarks, the fast-paced shows highlighted some of the biggest named designers in sustainable fashion with a series of three fashion runway shoots at Madison Square Park, Union Square and Washington Square Park. With each show, 12 models hit the runway delighting hundreds of captivated onlookers as Modavanti and 3vNYC kicked off New York fashion week in style.

Beyond staging the unusual and bringing New York fashion week to the public (reminiscent of the days before Mercedes Benz moved from Byrant Park indoors to Lincoln Center), the guerilla style marketing event highlighted the power of social media and the importance for online retailers of connecting with customers in an offline setting.

Stay tuned as Modavanti has more fun and fashionable events ahead.
