Dick Lugar Shows the Tea Party is Dangerous, Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator" Endorses Romney, and Everything You Should Read on Hump Day

Top Talker – Last night, Mitt Romney won all three GOP primaries, inching closer to formally winning the GOP nomination. He now has 934 delegates, and needs just 210 more for the necessary 1144 delegates. Tuesday's sub-plots:

  • North Carolina passed an amendment by 20 points to ban same-sex marriage, civil unions, and partnerships, the 30th state to do so. http://bit.ly/KjS6tk
  • In Indiana, the longest-serving Senator in state history, Dick Lugar, lost his primary to Tea Party challenger Richard Mourdock, a blow to moderates in Congress and President Obama. http://bit.ly/KOZ4mU
  • Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett won Wisconsin's Democratic primary in the Governor recall election, so he'll face off against Scott Walker on June 5. http://bit.ly/J8bjy2
  • In West Virginia's Democratic primary, 33% of voters selected Keith Judd, a felon who is currently serving time in Texas for extortion, over President Obama. He may be entitled to at least one delegate at the Democratic convention in September. http://bit.ly/KM67NZ

Congrats! to Zambian Pundit Mutale Pamela Kapekele, who was invited to present her story (An African's Perspective: Lord's Resistance Army is Still a Massive Problem Which Kony 2012 Part 2 Doesn't Address) at the Media in Conflicts Seminar in Israel, along with 35 other accomplished journalists from across the world.

Video of the Day – Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator" endorses MittRomney, saying, "I give my full support to Mitchell Romney. He has the makings of a great dictator. He is incredibly wealthy, but pays no taxes. And it's not much of a leap to go from firing people to firing squads, and from putting pets on the top of a car to putting political dissidents on top of them." Video here.
