Impact

Huffington Post Gay Voices recently launched #WhatFemmeLooksLike, a Twitter campaign designed to expand the perception of femme men and women in popular culture. "Too often the representations of femme queer women are designed to please heterosexual men and representations of femme queer men are two-dimensional and offensive and all other representations rarely surface," wrote Noah Michelson

#WhatFemmeLooksLike encourages people to tweet photos of themselves in order to begin changing that baseline. Those who responded were all undeniably unique — and different from one another — but they all identify as femme, proving that there's no standard definition of the word.
