Manar Milbes Hey John, I would NEVER support someone who did that. Which is why i mention that someone cannot commit a crime and then blame their religion (that's against Islam). Islamic law requires that they follow the laws of the land Muslims live in. However, it becomes problematic in the example i gave about child support.
Manar Milbes Hi Marc, You know, the very first time I heard about banning it I didn't mind because I'm a proud American who is more than happy to abide by the U.S constitution. It didn't seem to matter at first but then when I realized that I can affect my religious rights (like whats the point of getting married if it wont be recognized during a court hearing) that's when I was against it. Having said this, I'm not asking that they consider Islamic law but just that they acknowledge practices (if that makes sense).
Manar Milbes You're not reading, David. "Removed" being passed tense. I made no reference to current comments. Also, the so-called "evidence" presented in this case were given by two SECRET witness (working for Israeli intelligence) whose ID's could not be verified nor could the defendants confront these witnesses (Violations of 6th Amendment). Several leading civil rights attorneys (including Michael Ratner president emeritus of the Center for Constitutional Rights) have come out to condemn the outcome of the case. You can read some of what he had to say here http://freedomtogive.com/2012/10/justice-has-fled-the-country-us-supreme-court-wont-hear-holy-land-five-case/ So, again not credible evidence was provide to link HLF with Hamas.
Manar Milbes We've had this conversation... multiple times, David. Nothing you say will make me agree with you..and nothing I'll say will make you agree with me. So, let's respectfully agree to disagree. Always a pleasure, sir. Joshua, I have looked about both sides and to me the picture is clear. I've sided with the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch (to name a few)...they are quite convincing. But again, we will have to agree to disagree. Have a good day, gentleman.
Manar Milbes David, no matter how many times you post this link (I would say this is your 6 or 7th time) doesn't make your accusations true. Prosecutors found NO evidence that linked HLF with Hamas. Nice try...but it's about time you came up with something new.
Manar Milbes Hi David, If in fact that is true (all though my cousin who works for UNWRA in the West Bank and was present says it wasn't "hundreds" and it was only a few rock throwers) it's nothing tear gas couldn't have clearned. Instead of randomly shooting and killing people and then saying they were "caught between stone throwers and the Israeli military." Imagine being provided that excuse after a loved one is killed?!
Manar Milbes You have already said this (under a different PM account) so I don't have time to repeat myself. You are welcome to believe what ever you want. BTW, I have plenty of friends who were Muslim and converted to Christianity. They have no problem with me choosing to be Muslim and I have no problem with them choosing not to be. Respect goes a long way. You should try it.
Manar Milbes Proud Kafir, I don't think people think I'm "lovely" but many do know I'm honest. Notice, I haven't once mentioned a so-called "message of Islam." My article merely highlights the religious and ethnic profiling of American citizens at the airport. Many other writers (who are NOT Muslim) have highlighted this same issue. Are you going to say they are trying to spread an Islamic message even though they are not Muslim? Open your eyes when you read and don't hurt yourself by over-thinking it.
Manar Milbes I just realized I've had this discussion with you previously. I'm not sure why you changed your name and picture on PolicyMic. Or perhaps created a new account. In any case, everything you have said is NOT true. I'm a proud American citizen who is more than satisfied to live by the U.S Constitution and I DO NOT push others to accept Islam. Islam works for me but I realize it doesn't work for others and I respect that. Unfortunately, Muslim's constitutional rights are trampled on everyday which is why I feel the need to speak up. But feel free to continue with your creative stories. Take care.
Manar Milbes What prophet (or religious figure) an individual chooses to follow should have nothing to do with their traveling abilities. This article isn't about the "Muslim world" it's about American citizens who happen to be Muslim and how they are being profiled.
Manar Milbes You're completely right, Rich. It's extremely difficult to get to the reality of things with all the misinformation provided by the media..for most people it's easier to stereotype and assume then actually approach a Muslim and talk to them. But I haven't lost hope because you're one example of someone trying to engage people who are different from you :D
