Chris Brown and Drake Fight Over Rihanna Could Destroy the NBA Career of Tony Parker

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As it turns out, Chris Brown’s career might not be the only one finished by his New York City night club fight with Drake over Rihanna. San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, who was present at the club and was injured when the fight broke, won’t be able to attend the upcoming London Olympics and could face the end of his career with the NBA as a result of the brawl.

Parker is suing the owner of the SoHo nightclub – W.i.P – for $20 million claiming he suffered a “corneal laceration” of the left eye that will prevent him from making the French National team’s practices leading up to the upcoming London Olympics.

Parker is also reportedly worried about his career in the NBA, as he still has 3 years left on his contract and the eye injury could threaten his performance. The lawsuit claims the club owner was negligent to host both Brown’s and Drake’s entourages knowing about their feud. Parker says the club’s security failed to provide a safe environment for the patrons.

If Parker’s career is indeed threatened by the incident, should he go after the performers? If so, which one of them is most responsible? Though it is clear both Drake and Brown were arguing over singer Rihanna – with whom Drake had a brief relationship with and Brown was convicted of assaulting three years ago – factual details about the incident remain unknown.

Some recent reports indicate that Drake initiated the fight as he allegedly made a derogatory comment to Brown about Rihanna ("I'm f_____g the love of your life." After that, witnesses say a bottle was thrown to Chris Brown producing the cut on his chin that he showed off on Twitter.

Whether one may think of this as just a fight between two young entertainers over a beautiful young woman, the consequences of the now infamous SoHo brawl could be very serious; not only legal – W.i.P was slapped with 14 charges by New York State Liquor Authority and could soon lose its liquor license, not to mention Brown’s record – but also professional as both the Santiago Spurs and France’s national basketball team could lose a valuable player.
