Stop What You're Doing and Look at These Ridiculous Mustaches

Culture

Are you ready to see some of the most carefully groomed mustaches in all of Britain?

Luckily for you, a photojournalist recently paid a visit to a meeting of the Handlebar Club, a British club founded in April 1947 with the objective of "bring[ing] together mustache wearers (beards being strictly prohibited) socially for sport and general convivality," according to the website. The group meets on the first Monday of every month to discuss various mustache issues and, perhaps more importantly, organize their various charitable efforts.

While all that's needed is a "hirsute appendage of the upper lip, with graspable extremities," the club's membership has declined since its peak of roughly 200 members in the 1950s and '60s — although the quality of their mustaches has not.
