13 of the Best Twitter Reactions to Romney Being Booed at the NAACP Convention

Impact

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney went to a place where few men like him have gone before on Wednesday morning: the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) convention.

As the oldest civil rights group in the country, this year marks the NAACP’s 103rd Annual Convention, which is taking place in Houston. As a group dedicated to civic engagement, the NAACP uses its power to keep its over 500,000 members informed by hosting a presidential debate during every election year. In 2008, Barack Obama and John McCain went head-to-head in debate, an event which may have accounted for the 95% African American turnout for Obama in the subsequent election.  Despite warnings that any attempt by Romney to sway voters from Obama at this year’s NAACP convention would be a lost cause, it was not enough to stop him.

Not only did Romney show up, he inspired his own trending hashtag on twitter, #ThingsRomneyShouldSaytotheNAACP, before getting booed off stage.

Here are 13 things Romney should have said (or probably thought about saying):
