The Spice Girls Just Released 4 New Songs Online

Culture

Just a few weeks after the new Fifth Harmony album dropped, the Spice Girls are back to remind us what great girl-power pop really sounds like.

It's not a reunion tour, but it's still something — four previously unreleased tracks from the iconic British girl group that ruled the '90s has emerged on to the Internet. The tracks, according to U.K. newspaper the Mirror, were recorded around the time their last album, Forever, was released.

Sadly, that means Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, isn't on the tracks, since she left the band in 1998. But the four songs — "Pain Proof," "A Day in Your Life," "If It's Lovin' on Your Mind" and "Right Back at Ya" — were produced by Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe, the duo responsible for the group's first two iconic albums.

That makes them extra special. Only one song on Forever was produced by Stannard and Rowe, while the others were created with American producers, who gave the album a rhythm and blues feel. It was their worst selling album, but these songs show just how much talent the girls still had.
