The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2:

Prior to the start of the panel, a Comic Con official and the panel’s moderator took time to offer a tribute to Gisela Gagliardi, a fan of the series who died in a car accident near the SDCC while attending the event. The moderator then introduced the cast members, who fielded questions from both MTV journalist Jake Horowitz and the audience members. One topic that received a bit of passive aggression, passive only because the actors seemed to be in a fairly good mood, was the issue of the famously rumored series reboot. When asked about the possibility of such an action by Lionsgate, and it is a very real possibility considering the fact the current series ends its run in November with the release of Breaking Dawn-Part 2, co-star Jackson Rathbone jokingly referred to it as The Amazing Twilight and went on to take some digs at Andrew Garfield, star of the incredibly successful Spider Man reboot. Robert Pattinson also reportedly stated that he pitied the person who would take over his part, stating that he would “make a campaign against them.” Also noted was the increasingly abnormal fashion of star Kristen Stewart, who came to the event wearing a BCBGMAXAZRIA skirt and Fluxus t-shirt along with a Melinda Maria ring and Barbara Bui sneakers. The stars also stated that they would enjoy coming to Comic-Con in the future, with Stewart dressing as the evil queen from Snow White and Pattinson dressing as Zod. Finally, Kristen Stewart stated that finally getting to play a vampire would be akin to Christmas while Pattinson joked about his Breaking Dawn Part 2 character advising his twilight counterpart to be less promiscuous.

Game of Thrones:

Several new cast members were revealed, including Mackenzie Crook (UK’s The Office) and Dame Diana Rigg (The Avengers, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service). Kit Harington, as was revealed through HBO’s official Twitter account for the show on Monday, was not present due to an injury. Wired magazine also offered booze at a bar inspired by the show. Also made available to the fans was a trailer for the upcoming sandbox massively multi player online game Game of Thrones The Seven Kingdoms. The game will be free-to-play and will offer three factions from the show that players may take part in.

The Walking Dead:

The panel discussed the one piece of news that fans of the zombie-apocalypse series desired more than any other: an official date for the return. AMC’s The Walking Dead will be officially returning on October 14, with season three focusing on the introduction of Michonne, a zombie killer that wields a samurai sword, and the Governor along with his prison compound. Victor Scalise, visual director for the series, also revealed that there would be quite a bit more killing in the next season, a surprise considering the already gratuitous amounts of action in the series. Two teasers were also showcased, one displaying the aforementioned killer Michonne in action and the other of the prison set. The first showed the samurai-esque fighter in action, decapitating a group of walkers, while the second showed the prison, the place where Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors found themselves at the end of the second season. The set is incredibly large and ambitious, with show runner Glen Mazzara confirming that the prison, the Governor or Michonne will not be wrapped up anytime soon. Robert Kirkman, the creator of the comic that inspired the series, also met with the audience earlier in the day and made major announcements about his upcoming storyline; so major, in fact, that they can legitimately count as spoilers for fans of the show so, be warned.
