The Free Syrian Army has admitted that it is responsible for Wednesday's bombing in the National Security building in Damascus during a meeting of numerous Syrian officials, which killed General Daoud Rajha and Assef Shawkat, Assad’s brother-in-law.

Regardless of all of the international negotiations and United Nations resolutions trying to end the ongoing conflict in Syria, the Free Syrian Army has continued its fight. As the regime has continued to kill Syrian rebels and the death toll has risen, the Syrian people have grown stronger and more resolute in their desire for revenge.

Referring to the attack, the Free Syrian Army claimed, “This is the volcano we talked about, we have just started,” spokesman Wassim Sasadeine stated.

In addition, the dissident Syrian ambassador Nawaf al-Fares stated that the bombing has significant implications because the building where it takes place represents the great heart of Assad’s system. The National Security building has been the location from which Assad has garnered his power and led the country since the first day of the revolution. The fact that the building is guarded by heavy security means that the attack must have been planned with the assistance of national security officials.

Many activists have claimed that the army is losing control over large areas in Damascus, meaning that the revolution has reached its decisive phase.

Since the beginning of the revolution, Assad has ensured that the capital has remained under his control, yet this attack occurred just several kilometers from the presidential palace.

It is obvious that the time has come for Bashar al-Assad to step down, causing less harm for him and many innocent civilians. Al-Assad’s allies must stop encouraging his misguided pride and support the people of Syria.
