Americans woke up Saturday morning in a very different country from the one they knew only 24 hours before. Marriage equality is the law of the land, delivered by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 vote asserting the constitutional rights of all citizens to wed. In newspapers from around the nation, many in states where same sex marriage had been banned before Justice Anthony Kennedy's majority opinion landed like a "thunderbolt," the response was overwhelming, heartening and heartbreaking.

While Americans had their eyes on the Supreme Court and Charleston, terrorists in Africa attacked a Tunisian beach resort. At least 37 people were killed, according the latest BBC report.
