Anti Gay Companies: Chick Fil A Same Sex Kiss In Day is a Big Flop

Impact

While Chick-Fil-A is well known for its chicken, it appeared Friday that most of those in the gay and lesbian community had plenty of “chicken” in them. The planned kiss-in turned out to be a non-event in many parts of the country. Although I am quite sure that the LGBT community will insist that the event somehow gets included in the history books of tomorrow, doing so would be perhaps the greatest exaggeration since the colonists propagated the notion of the “Boston Massacre” to refer to the minor incident on King Street in 1770.

I actually drove to the Chick-Fil-A closest to my house this evening. I stayed there for a few hours, but there was not a sign of any protesters present. I asked employees if it had been a peaceful and calm all day, and they all confirmed that they had not seen one hint of protest.  Apparently, I picked the wrong Chick-Fil-A as another one on the other side of town had what I hear was a rather small group of protesters.

Even before venturing out to Chick-Fil-A, I kind of expected a small turnout from the gay and lesbian community. Only 12,000 had registered on Facebook for the same-sex-kiss-in, whereas over 580,000 registered for Chick-Fil-A’s record setting appreciation day on Wednesday. With 1600 stores operating nationwide, that equates to 250 people registering per Chick-Fil-A on Wednesday as opposed to 8 for the same-sex kiss-in on Friday.

Reports from other sites throughout the country seem to confirm it as a non-event. The Des Moines Register reported that only about a half-dozen same-sex couples showed up to share a kiss .  The Torrance Chick-Fil-A, in Los Angeles, California, got off to a slow start in terms of the kiss-in, but a message of intolerance and bigotry seems to have been promoted sometime during the night as gay rights supporters vandalized the building by spray painting it with the message “Tastes Like Hate.”

Chicago had some protestors, but the numbers paled in comparison illuminating the clear fact that Appreciation day was a hit, but the kiss-in turned out to be a huge miss.Chicago’s downtown location had a different kind of kiss-in, as happily married couples showed up in wedding attire to show their support for the company and its stand for traditional values. “We just wanted to come out and support Chick-Fil-A,” said Daniel Cruz who further expressed he and his wife felt alienated by the intolerant and bigoted stance of Rahm Emmanuel and the Chicago Alderman against Chick-Fil-A in saying that “Chick-Fil-A’s values are not Chicago values.” His wife Jennifer Cruz who is the reigning Mrs. Illinois, chimed in “We’re here to celebrate our wonderful seventeen years of marriage. I can’t believe I fit in it (the dress). I’m so excited…… four kids later.”

While gay rights groups will no doubt likely continue to pursue pointless protests to defend their rights, and promote intolerance and bigotry towards those who dare to express their faith-based moral convictions disapproving of their sexual lifestyle choice, I imagine the liberal mainstream media is hanging its head for creating this firestorm, which has in effect resulted in the burning of their strategy to use the gay and lesbian community as pawns in their political game of chess.

It’s ever apparent that Mike Huckabee’s influence with evangelicals dominates the board hands down. If Barack Obama loses the 2012 presidential election, he can send a personal thank you to the liberal media who invoked the wrath of the former Republican Arkansas governor.
