It was a big week for Apple iPhone 5 rumors, the most prevalent of which was the Twitter rumor that the new generation iPhone would cost $800. There was no confirmed source for the rumor, but it gained enough traction that "iPhone 5 $800" became one of the worldwide trending topics on Twitter. Thankfully, in the case of the $800 news the Twitter rumors seem to be just that; rumors.

Other news in the iPhone world this week came in the form of a video which gives a good estimate of how the new phone will look in a user's hand. The report, by Macotakara, also includes information which indicates that the volume buttons and mute/vibrate switch may all be moved around. With the headphone jack now moving to the bottom of the phone, Apple has tweaked the component on its flex cable parts.

As for other details for the iPhone 5, there are murmurings of a taller and thinner phone body, 4G LTE connectivity, a smaller dock connector and a larger 4.0-inch screen.

And to answer everyone's favorite question: When will the iPhone 5 be released? By all accounts it is looking like a September 21 release date. Here's to hoping all these rumors are true, except the one about the phone costing $800.
