50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast: Channing Tatum Is Happy to Be in the Nude as Christian Grey

Every day this summer there seems to be a new list of potential cast members for the eagerly anticipated 50 Shades of Grey movie. So far, several huge names have been thrown into the hat for the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Fan favorites include Ryan Gosling as the dashing lead Christian Grey and Emma Watson as the young college ingenue, Anastasia Steele. Watson, for her part, has already done what she can to put the rumors to rest: "because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn't mean it's any less true than if there are three or four. The thing is I'm not going to go out there every time someone attached me to a film to say no or release a statement."

Another fan favorite, Elizabeth Olsen, also put rumors to rest about being cast in the role of Anastasia Steele. When asked if she would put herself in the running she said: "No, no, no! But it's had a huge impact on society. Apparently rope sales have skyrocketed because women who've read the book are really getting into bondage, which is kind of great. It's such a taboo for women to actually discuss sexuality without the help of Cosmopolitan. All of a sudden, this book has become a sensation because the women reading it haven't had access to this kind of thing before. I was talking to a guy who was making a joke about it, saying, 'Clearly, these women just need to watch porn'. In a way, he's right."

The newest name on the list of potential Greys is the star of Magic Mike, Channing Tatum. The heartthrob, however, has one big criteria if he is going to play Christian Grey, "I’d only be allowed [to be cast as Christian] if my wife was Ana. She’s read the books, so I don’t think she would be impressed if she couldn’t be [Anastasia Steele’s] part!”

His wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, is a professional actress and dancer. The two met on the set of the 2006 Step Up movie.

Time will tell if Tatum and his wife will bring the 50 Shades trilogy to the box office.
