NBC has lined up The Terminator actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to helm the network's reality TV game show Celebrity Apprentice after it fired presidential hopeful Donald Trump last month, CNBC reports. With Schwarzenegger, 68, as its host, the show will return next year.

"We are thrilled to be opening a powerful new chapter in the story of the Apprentice franchise," Paul Telegdy of NBC Entertainment said, Entertainment Weekly reports. "Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves."

NBC fired Trump, who declared his candidacy for president in June, from the show last month following Trump's controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants. "Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump," the network said in a statement. "At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values."

Shortly after the news was made public, Trump took to Twitter to express his support for Schwarzenegger and thank his fans.
