Be honest: Whether you're dying to have kids or you're one of the growing number of millennials opting out of parenthood, at some point you've probably wondered what it would be like to be pregnant.

Well, expectant mother and newly appointed First Lady Kim Kardashian is here to answer your burning questions about pregnancy, and she's got news for you: It ain't pretty. In fact, having a bun in the oven seems like pretty much the worst thing ever.

"I'm gonna keep it real: For me, pregnancy is the worst experience of my life! LOL!," Kardashian wrote in an exclamation mark-laden post on her personal blog (which lives behind a paywall).

In her post, Kardashian addressed the idea that pregnant people should find the experience of carrying a child magical, or that they even enjoy being pregnant in the first place. "I'm not sure why I don't like the experience like others do," she wrote. "Maybe it's the swelling, the backaches or just the complete mindfuck of how your body expands and nothing fits. I just always feel like I'm not in my own skin. It's hard to explain. I don't feel sexy, either — I feel insecure and most of the time I just feel gross."

Kardashian's experience isn't particularly surprising: We're all well aware that having a child is no walk in the park, and with the nausea, mood swings and excessive flatulence that can come with pregnancy, few moms will actually tell you that they felt their sexiest while they were pregnant. (Kardashian also noted that due to the postpartum weakening of pelvic floor muscles, she'll also have to wear a diaper for an extended period of time after giving birth: "No one told me that! #SoSexy," she wrote.)

But Kardashian's blog post offers a refreshing counter-narrative to the idea propagated by our culture that all women, without exception, should aspire to become mothers and that all women, without exception, should enjoy pregnancy.

Some women might spend their whole lives making Pinterest boards for their hypothetical children, while others wince whenever they see a toddler on TV. The same goes for what it's like to actually be pregnant: Some women enjoy it, but others just don't, and there's no need to apologize for that.

After summing up her feelings on being pregnant, Kardashian makes it clear that the experience is "SO worth it when you have your precious baby in the end! So for all my complaining, it's 100% worth it and more!!!" So regardless of what you think of Kim Kardashian or her excessive exclamation mark usage, props to her for giving voice to a sentiment that many women feel but are urged to suppress: Having a kid is awesome, but being pregnant can kinda suck. And it's totally OK to admit that.
