Miley Cyrus and the Flaming Lips Are Planning to Play a Show Completely Nude

Culture

The conversation surrounding Miley Cyrus' latest release is about as divisive as free albums get. Hailed either as a misguided "vanity project" or praised as a concept trip filled with "wacko successes," it's hard to deny as anything but a perfect reflection of the free and weird spirit Cyrus is trying to become.

Luckily, it found its audience. Her tour with the Flaming Lips aka her Dead Petz sold out in six minutes. Now, she's using those tour dates to turn sloppy, body-positive psychedelia into high art.

According to a recent Instagram post shared by Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, one group of fans lucky enough to snag tickets will see a special show in which Cyrus and the band will perform in the nude.

"Oh fuck," Coyne writes. "Miley Cyrus is planning a show where her, the band (us) and the audience are all COMPLETELY naked with milk (well white stuff that looks like milk) is being being spewed everywhere ... It's a video (in the works) for the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz song 'The Milky Milky Milk.'"

It's a similar concept to her most recent video for "Dooo It," which showed her face getting covered in all manners of goos. "The Milky Milky Milk" video will likely be similar, only far more explicit and in line with Cyrus' goals to free the nipple — and, er, everything else.

Cyrus has essentially been fighting to free the nipple ever since she began her transformation from Hannah Montana Disney star. She's been continually working to top herself, from her "Wrecking Ball" video, to her #FreeTheNipple Instagram posts, to her Paper magazine cover. She elaborated on her thoughts about the double standards surrounding the great nipple debate during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in August.

"The nipple, what you can't show, is what everyone has," she said, "but the jug part that everybody doesn't, you're allowed to show underboob. I've never understood the way it works." It's the exactly the inequality between male and female nipples that #FreeTheNipple activists have been trying to point out its entire existence.

Cyrus' nude milk show will continue her mission to discourage the world from freaking out every time a sensitive human body part sees the light of day. Fans without tickets to that show, however, will have to wait until the "The Milky Milky Milk" video drops to see what is in store.
