Uber Rush Launched in 3 Major Cities: Here's How It Works and How to Get It

Impact

Uber Rush, the newest service from the tech and transportation company, has rolled out to San Francisco, Chicago and New York, by both bike and car. Uber officially unveiled its latest program, designed to be a delivery service for both normal users and small businesses alike, on Wednesday.

Rush is now available for users in those cities who need a messenger to deliver any packages from one place to the next, as well as run small errands like picking up a lost jacket, Business Insider reports.

Thanks to Uber's partnering with Canadian e-commerce startup Shopify, businesses can provide faster alternatives to the standard shipping options available through services like UPS or FedEx by signing up for free through the app or site. The service can be used by small businesses looking to expand into same-day delivery features, or when a company is overloaded with an influx of orders for shipping.

Already, Uber reports New York restaurants like Blockheads Burritos and Indie Fresh and produce company OurHarvest have been using Uber Rush since it was initially tested in the city.
