Jon Stewart and HBO Sign 4-Year Agreement That Starts With Short-Form Daily Content

Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart signed a four-year production contract with HBO on Tuesday, the network announced in a press release.

"Jon Stewart led a revolution that changed the face of TV comedy on The Daily Show," president of HBO programming Michael Lombardo said in the announcement. "He graced our network nearly 20 years ago, so we're thrilled to welcome back his immense talents in this next chapter of his career."

The deal includes short-form digital features of Stewart's unique spin on politics, which made him a legend on The Daily Show. Special technology Stewart is creating with graphics company OTOY Inc. will allow him to promptly produce short-form video coverage of current events that will update several times a day on HBO Now, according to the release.
