Heartwarming Necktie Lesson on Atlanta Train Goes Viral

Impact

A gesture of kindness at a train station in Atlanta has gained attention on social media in recent days since a Facebook post Saturday described the heartwarming scene, Today reports. Facebook user Redd Desmond Thomas was moved at the Lindbergh Center in Atlanta when he watched an elderly couple assist a young man tie his tie on a train station platform. Thomas decided to share the moment with the world.

According to Thomas' post, a woman on the platform noticed a well-dressed young man struggling with his necktie and asked if he knew how to tie it properly. When he responded "No ma'am," the woman tapper her husband on the shoulder and asked him to lend a hand.

"The older gentleman moved without hesitation, almost a reflex response and gave him a step-by-step tutorial," Thomas wrote on Facebook. "Then, afterward, the elder gentleman watched the young gentleman repeat the steps and show him that he had it."

"I was some distance away (but close enough to hear the exchange), and got even closer to snap this candid photo of the tutorial in progress before hopping on the train," Thomas added. "I love this!"

As of Tuesday, the Facebook post had been shared more than 200,000 times and earned north of 800,000 Likes. In the comments section of the post, a one-word response surfaced time and again: "Beautiful."
