Impact

Four men were charged with felonies on Monday in connection to the Nov. 23 wounding of protesters in Minneapolis, the backdrop of a fatal shooting of a black man by Minneapolis police on Nov. 15, Reuters reported. The men have been identified as Allen Scarsella, 23; Joseph Backman, 27; Nathan Gustavsson, 21 and Daniel Macey, 26.

The four men have been in custody since last week when protesters were shot, none fatally, near a Black Lives Matter demonstration for 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was killed by Minneapolis Police two weeks ago. The shooting of protesters happened in close proximity to the demonstration outside of Minneapolis' fourth precinct on Nov. 23. Five people were wounded.

A criminal complaint read Scarsella shot all five protesters, according to U.S. News and World Report. Scarsella's bail was set at $500,000; the other three men faced $250,000 bail each.
