One Direction Gay American Spoof Blasts Mitt Romney and Fox News (VIDEO)

By now, you all know about One Direction, the British boy band integrated by Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson -- and known for the hit What Makes You Beautiful, which they performed at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

They’ll also perform at the September 6th MTV VMAs 012 – where they’ll consolidate the new British Invasion by serenading American teenagers with Justin Bieber-like tunes. One Direction  signed to Simon Cowell’s record label in 2010 after placing third in the seventh season of The X Factor -- and while some say they're the new Beatles, others think they're just a one hit wonder kind of band. Here’s their video:

What not everybody knows is that, according to Queerty, there’s an American (and gay) version of One Direction. It’s called “Wrong Direction,” and at the best "jacked-up-and-tanned-up" West Hollywood style, has covered One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful with a political twist.

“Disclosure,” the YouTube video put together by Full Frontal Freedom, “a coalition of independent artists and media executives who want to use our talent and creativity to raise awareness and enhance civil discourse,” calls presumptive 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney “morally bankrupt."

The boys of Wrong Direction also blast Romney for refusing to release his tax returns (“Two years of tax returns is not enough”) and outsourcing jobs while covering his allegedly corrupt tenure as CEO of private equity firm Bain Capital (“Outsourcing jobs, Bain cover-up”). "Disclosure" also criticizes Fox News for apparently not being aware of the Republican candidate's flaws. Here’s their video:

The spoof is yet another example of how social media (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit) are mixing celebrities with current events to influence the Elections 2012 -- less than 80 days to the big day America will decide between President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney.
