This Is What I Had to Do to Get Kim Kardashian's Thoughts on Breastfeeding

And now we know. 

On Tuesday evening, entertainment mogul Kim Kardashian West tweeted that she was finally ready to share her thoughts on breastfeeding. 

To get to those thoughts required an arduous journey of button-mashing and financial decisions. Here is that story: 

The tweet includes a picture of her daughter, North West, and the link actually leads to Kardashian West's store page, where you can download her free app.

Oh, finally, I can find out what Kardashian West thinks! But, wait... 

What's that lock on the bottom of the screen? When I tap it, I get this: 

Oh, Kim just wants me to subscribe to a newsletter, perhaps? Wrong. A more insidious road lies ahead. 

At this point, I'm just like: 

And then this happens.

A slight roadblock: a monthly $2.99 subscription to her app. 

I'm undeterred. Still going for it. And, after ponying up the money, I finally get access to Kardashian West's advice. 

Here are Kim Kardashian West's thoughts about breastfeeding

Kardashian West begins her story by saying that when she has to feed Saint, North gets jealous and sits on her lap to try to block Saint's boob access. But now, she's included North in the breastfeeding process: After Kardashian West pumps, North helps feed Saint the bottle. 

Fortunately, Kardashian West says she produces "a lot of milk — so much that I've taken over my mom's freezer with tons of milk!" And she has a tip for new moms: Use a nipple shield. 

What does Kardashian West think of breastfeeding in public? Her advice: "Now that I'm a mom, I say whatever makes you comfortable goes." 

However, Kardashian West said she wouldn't breastfeed in public with people she doesn't know staring at her. 

"I personally wouldn't do it, unless it was an emergency situation, and I was fully covered," she wrote.

She would, however, breastfeed in front of her girlfriends. "I think it's a natural experience, and I'm not shy about that," she wrote. "I know so many people get backlash for breastfeeding pics, but I don't mind them!" 

In telling readers to do whatever makes them comfortable, Kardashian West defended the right for women to breastfeed in public. It's a right that actress Alyssa Milano passionately defended on The Wendy Williams Show earlier this month.
