This NSFW Protest Happened in Brazil While You Were Preoccupied With Super Bowl Weekend

What better way to protest governmental corruption than by putting the president's face on your lady parts? 

Brazilian model Juliana Isen did just that with a codpiece (or, rather, its female-equivalent) Saturday during the Carnival festival in São Paulo, prompting law enforcement to throw her aggressively into a cordoned-off area.  

Isen was participating with representatives of samba school Peruche States. The garment, picturing Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff with a red line slashed through it, seemed to bother some of those present. 

But who can really say why?

A number of local publications were captivated by the unusual and salacious form of protest, running numerous stories on the debacle. And, naturally, Twitter went ablaze with commentary and photographs too.

Amateur camera footage of Isen getting manhandled and pushed into the holding area that looked similar to a cage was uploaded on YouTube Saturday.

Rousseff, who was narrowly reelected in October 2014, has been consumed by corruption scandals for much of her tenure in office. Some made allegations that the president accepted kickbacks while she was chairwoman for state-owned oil company Petrobras, although Rousseff was ultimately exonerated. Still, many citizens are disaffected by and dissatisfied with her leadership, which has also coincided with a stagnating economy.

Millions protested on the streets in March and April, calling for the president's ouster, but all to no avail. 

Ju Isen, as the model is also known, made a name for herself by protesting in a similar fashion by removing her shirt during these nationwide protests. In August, protesters staged another demonstration.

"I'm here today because this is where it all began," Isen said, according to Brazil's G1. "It was here that [I] protested for the first time. I had no reason to do this elsewhere."
