Oscars 2016 Start Time: Channel and Time Info for Red Carpet and Awards Show

The 88th Academy Awards will air live Sunday, Feb. 28 on ABC. Comedian Chris Rock, who kept the Hollywood crowd laughing at the 77th Academy Awards in 2005, will host once again. The stars will hit the red carpet at 7 p.m. EST, and the ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m. EST at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Even though there has been a glaring lack of diversity among the nominees, The Revenant, starring perennial Oscars snub Leonardo DiCaprio, leads the nominations with 12. Mad Max: Fury Road followed with 10 nominations. The Martian was nominated seven times, and Bridge of Spies, Carol and Spotlight were each nominated six times.

According to its official website, the Oscars will be televised live in over 225 countries and territories across the globe.
