Kelly Ayotte RNC Speech: Quotes on Middle Class, Jobs, and Obamacare

Impact

Senator Kelly Ayotte opened the Republican National Convention night 1 speech series, discussing jobs and small businesses … and how government intervention in the economy is destroying jobs in the United States.

Ayotte, who started up her own snow plow business, ripped into the Obama administration for suffocating business interests — especially on Main Street — in the America, and outlined how a Romney administration would instead help create and American job boom.

"Under this administration the regulations are up and the job creations are down," Ayotte said.

"Obama actually believes that as small business grows, the government should be taking more and more from them."

"Isn't it time that we had a leader who thinks that creating jobs should be celebrated, not penalized."

"For small business to survive, we need President Romney, not President Obama."

Ayotte, the junior senator from New Hampshire, opened up the first night of GOP keynote speeches. She also touched on the Romney health care plan, and attacked Obamacare. She touched slightly on the conservative position on abortion.

Ayotte is a perfect Republican candidate to push the GOP’s new pro-life, anti-abortion platform. As attorney general in  New Hampshire, Ayotte helped push through an act requiring parental notification before abortions may be performed on unemancipated minors, which was narrowly passed by the New Hampshire General Court. The act faced immediate legal challenges  and made its way all the way to the Supreme Court. The Court avoided a substantive ruling on the challenged law or a reconsideration of prior Supreme Court abortion precedent.
