"The issue is bigger than just about me." As she wrote in her Facebook post, as well as her Instagram account, Kesha has worked to expand the conversation beyond herself.

"I just want to say that if you have been abused, please don't be afraid to speak out. There are places that will make you feel safe. There are people who will help you."

The Facebook post is a follow-up to viral Instagram post she uploaded Tuesday, in which Kesha expressed gratitude for her supporters and hinted she would elaborate in a longer statement:

"Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you."
