What Channel Is the 2016 Oscars On?

The biggest day in film has finally arrived. The 88th Academy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 28 on ABC. But don't worry if you can't get to a television set. ABC will also livestream the entire event through their official website, or fans can catch all of the action on ABC's mobile app. The Oscars will be televised live in over 225 countries and territories across the globe.

The award ceremony will kick off at 8:30 p.m. Eastern at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, but the stars will hit the red carpet at 7 p.m. Eastern to show off their outfits. All eyes will be on host Chris Rock, who is expected to confront the #OscarsSoWhite controversy in his set.

The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Revenant, Room and Spotlight make up this year's best picture nominees.

Rounding out the best actress in a leading role category was Brie Larson for her role in Room, Cate Blanchett in Carol, Saoirse Ronan in Brooklyn, Jennifer Lawrence in Joy and Charlotte Rampling in 45 Years. See the full list of nominees on the Oscars website.
