Snooki Baby is the Party Pooper: Jersey Shore is Finally Over

The MTV Seaside Heights, New Jersey, reality series, Jersey Shore, which chronicled the train wreck lives of Snooki and The Situation – among other "guidos" and "guidettes" – is finally coming to and end, according to CBS News.

It seems MTV has finally heard the prayers of Jersey Shore haters around the world, as it has decided to end the program after its sixth season – scheduled to premier on October 4 – ends. 

So much has happened since Snooki was punched in the face by a random man for trying to snatch his drink at a local bar (namely, lots of partying and tanning in different locations such as New Jersey, Miami and even Italy).

Jersey Shore was the comeback kid for MTV, after the former music network -- which pioneered the reality television genre with its legendary The Real World -- was overshadowed by the networks Big Brother-style new reality television productions that became popular in the early 2000s.

Jersey Shore became a pop culture phenomenon, giving rise to “stars” such as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. The show has both supporters and detractors. Among the latter, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called the program "negative for New Jersey," as it "takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey."

And now, Snooki -- who along JWoww stars on a Jersey Shore spin off -- is a mom. Is Snooki's new status as a mom the reason why MTV decided to put an end to the infamous show? If so, baby Lorenzo deserved kudos from millions of Jersey Shore detractors who no longer will have to endure the Shore's party animal often obnoxious antics. No wonder the kid was born the same day Neil Armstrong died.
