Justin Bieber Is Getting Slammed for Canceling His 'Purpose' Tour Fan Meet-and-Greets

Sorry, Beliebers but you won't be meeting Canadian pop star Justin Bieber anytime soon, now that he's cancelled all of his Purpose tour's meet-and-greets, according to his Instagram post on Tuesday evening. Bkstg, the company that manages his $900-$2000 VIP packages, said the official reason for canceling was a "security scare," according to Us Magazine

Under Bkstg's revisions to the meet-and-greets, fans can take photos of — but not with — the singer, or exchange the package for a modified version or refund, according to USA Today. But as a catch, there are no partial refunds, so anyone looking for a refund will have to give up their concert ticket as well.

"I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy," Bieber wrote in his announcement on Instagram. Later he added, "I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression."

Bieber attributes the mental exhaustion to the "pressure of meeting people's expectations." He continued, "Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me ... And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen."

But as expected, some of those who doled out big bucks to meet the singer weren't happy with the restrictions nor the singer not wanting to meet his fans. "How about you give your fucking fans what they paid for and stop being such an entitled ego hungry piece of shit," one fan wrote.

Some fans still flocked to his side on Instagram by instantly pouring out their support for Bieber, saying they were proud of him. "You're spiritual and emotional health is critical to what you do," one user wrote. "Your fans will understand!"

Shortly after the news broke, the hashtag #WeAreHereForYouJustin began trending, with fans joining together in solidarity for the singer. "Your money is replaceable, Justin isn't," one user wrote. Another called the undesirable refund policy "so sad."
