Obama vs Romney Polls: What Swing State Millennials Expect From Romney and Obama
Florida is considered as a swing state because there are many retired voters living in this state. The two presidential candidates, Obama and Romney, are opposing each other in terms of their views of how to lead this country. Although Florida is considered a swing state, due to a majority of population of retired citizens, there are still young people — like college students — who are also part of the electoral process.
These young people are a determinant in the outcome of the upcoming presidential election because of their naiveté and idealism. Young people definitely want a president who can understand their needs — such as a better and stable life, affordable education to go to college, affordable health care and more job opportunities.
Being in a swing state, “a state in which no single candidate or party has overwhelming support in securing that state’s Electoral College votes,” means being in a place where there is no bias among the people of the state as to which candidate should people vote for. The state’s population determines whether the presidential candidate gets a majority of the votes and goes on to win the election.
The downside of living in a swing state is that campaign advertising can be far more negative than informative. Obviously, campaign attacks can destroy or damage characters and reputations.
This reminds me of the Black Propaganda concept we learned in the Philippines. Black Propaganda is a commonly used term in other countries in which each political candidate uses for them to win the election. It is a way to destroy or damage one's character, reputation and life. When it comes to politics, this is a strategy of the opponent to destroy his or her opponent’s political
Being a president of this country is a huge responsibility to ensure the welfare of the people first, over than that of the powerful. A President of the United States of America is also the most powerful person in the world. The United States is still the most powerful country in the world, despite its economic downfalls and uncertainties.
That's why as voters, as citizens of the United States, we need to know the answers to the following questions: a) How the United States will recover from the current economic instability? And b) How long will it take for the United States to recover from the current economic instability?
The answers are up in the air. We need to elect a president who will lead us through this battle and will get the country back to where it used to be, which is a country full of hopes and dreams.
