DNC Schedule of Speakers: Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Kerry Washington Will Give Epic Performances

The red carpet meets White House political spectacle, will continue this week at the DNC. In addition to the convention's musical appearances, which will include the likes of James Taylor and Mary J. Blige, a whole slew of actresses has recently been added to the Obama bill. Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Kerry Washington are the newest names to grace the convention speaker's list. 

The three women are scheduled to speak on Thursday evening. Washington, Portman, and Johansson represent a demographic that the Obama camp is hoping to win by a dramatic margin: women and the youth vote. The three women are also ethnically diverse with Johansson and Portman both white, and Washington African-American. Portman also has strong ties to her birth country, Israel. Sources say that the trio of women will come on stage together. 

On Wednesday night, former American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez also joined the stage. Singing the soul classic "You're All I Need to Get By." 

Other celebrity guests at the DNC will include Eva Longoria, who is also set to speak at the convention on Thursday night. Longoria told Politico on Tuesday that she was, "very, very nervous." Longoria offers a bridge to Latin American voters, and served as co-chair for President Obama's re-election campaign.

Also in attendance will be Black Eyes Peas' frontman Will.i.am. who joined President Clinton at at an event Tuesday night. During the 2008 campaign, Will.i.am came up with the tune and video for "Yes We Can." 

Harold & Kumar star Kal Penn is also at the convention to lend his support to the president. Penn will host the DNC's livestream coverage on Thursday night and will be joined by other Hollywood stars including Olivia Wilde, Fran Drescher, Zack Braff, Aisha Tyler, and Alexis Bledel.

Film actress Ashley Judd will be in Charlotte on Wednesday, attending a women's event on Wednesday evening. She is also an official delegate for the state of Tennessee. 

The musical guests at the DNC are also a who's who of the music scene. Wednesday night, star Sanchez performed. The Filipino-Mexican singer tweeted: 

With this roster of A-listers there is now a little more star power at the already star-studded convention festivities. Though it's fair to say that no one will be able to out-do Mr. Clint Eastwood. Still no word on if Betty White will make her much desired cameo.
