The Reason This Man Painted His Pinky Nail Will Melt Your Icy Heart

Impact

Warning! This post is NSFW because this is about to be you:

In a Facebook post that has since been shared over 113,000 times, one woman explained the heartwarming reason her husband painted his left pinky finger with nail polish.

"I was painting my nails and made a comment that I forget I don't have to paint my pinky nail on my left hand," she wrote. "I simply forget that I lost my pinky, but it is always kind of a bummer when I am reminded."

So what did husband of the year do? He offered to be her "surrogate pinky."

"You can paint my pinky to match your nails for the rest of our lives," he told her

Sanders didn't expect her photo go to viral, she just figured she would get a few likes and a comment from her mom.

"When I posted it I didn't feel like I was being brave or being a voice for amputees," she said in an email. "However, I have received multiple messages saying that this post made people's day, or that they also are an amputee and it made them feel better knowing that true love exists and that someone will love them, missing parts and all."

The comment section of Facebook is just as supportive.

"Beautiful pinky or not and what an amazing heart he has," one person wrote. "What a sweetheart!! I didn't know you lost your pinky, but you still have beautiful hands and an amazing hubby," said another.

This is not the first time that a photo of someone with an amputation has gone viral. In 2013, Jesse Cottle, a double-amputee Marine, shared an image of his wife carrying him in hopes that it would "represent overcoming any kind of adversity, big or small."

Both of these photos — in addition to offering major #RelationshipGoals — are doing just that.
