Chris Brown Wins Best Male Video, Drake Wins Best Hip Hop at the 2012 MTV VMAs

Culture

It seems as though Chris Brown and Drake have been rewarded for a remarkable year which included a couple of court appearances for the former and a lawsuit for a New York City night club brawl for the latter -- following the epic fight over singer Rihanna that almost left NBA San Antonio point guard Tony Parker out of the London 2012 Olympics.

Brown is no stranger to award ceremonies, or controversy for that matter, as the performer of "Turn Up the Music" (Best Male Video of the Year) beat up then girlfrtiend Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards. Gruesome images of a beaten up Rihanna ensued casting a wife beater reputation over the until then wholesome singer and dancer.

Rihanna went on to date musical rival Drake, with whom she performed a musical collaboration. Both Brown and Drake bumped into each other at a SoHo New York City club where bottles flew all over the place according to witnesses. Both Brown and Drake were suited by the club owner as well as by some of the patrons.
