Drake Reveals Significance of 'Views' Title and the Number 6 on 'Jimmy Fallon'

Impact

On Thursday, Drake appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss his latest album Views, which hit the internet April 28. The segment focused specifically on the album's cover art showing Drake sitting atop Toronto's CN Tower, and touched on the meaning of the number six in the album's unofficial full title, Views From the 6 (Drake shortened the title to simply Views at the last minute).

"The six — it's a Canada thing, right?" Fallon implored.

"Our area code's 416," Drake explained. "We were debating on the four but then I just went tail-end on them and went six. Actually at one point, like, it was considered that Toronto was broken up into six areas so ... It's all clicking, man."

Drake also appeared fixated on the size of the CN Tower in relation to other buildings around the world. "[It's] definitely the tallest building in Toronto," he said. "It once was the tallest building in the world."

The two men then jumped into the cover art's most intriguing matter, the artist himself and what he was doing there — a question that was never really answered. In the wake of the album cover art's release, the image of a small, seated Drake spawned countless memes.

The comedian then unveiled a number of what appeared to be thumb-sized Drake stickums. Drake put one on his shoulder.

"Oh Drake on Drake," Fallon shrieked. "This is so meta."

The new album has been met with much anticipation by Drake's fans and consists of 20 tracks including the artist's signature song, "Hotline Bling." The album was first made available on Apple Music last month.
