Terry Jones Responsible for Consulate Killings, Says MSNBC Pundit

After the murders of four American consulate workers in Benghazi, Libya, including Ambassador Chris Stevens by Muslim extremists offended by an American-made movie about Islam, it didn't take very long for the enemies of free speech and the purveyors of political correctness to rear their censorious heads. Mike Barnicle, a regular panelist on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, suggested that Terry Jones, the Floridian pastor who promoted the film made by "Sam Bacile" -- apparently a pseudonym -- be charged as an accessory to the killings. Jones gained infamy last year when he held a Quran burning in Florida that incredibly prompted some extremists in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan to kill 12 United Nations workers, beheading two of them. In Islam, it is considered blasphemous to deface the Quran or depict the religion's prophet, Muhammad, in any way.

Barnicle's contempt for the First Amendment is astounding:

According to Barnicle,

"Given this supposed minister's role in last year's riots in Afghanistan, where people died, and given his apparent or his alleged role in this film, where, not yet nailed down, but at least one American, perhaps the American ambassador is dead, it might be time for the Department of Justice to start viewing his role as an accessory before or after the fact."

To this, Donny Deutsch replied, "I was thinking the same thing, yeah."

Apparently, in the world according to Barnicle and Deutsch we must never utter speech or engage in expression that might eventually prompt an outburst of irrational hatred and violence in radical religious fascists thousands of miles away. Instead, we must constantly check ourselves, lest we become "an accessory before or after the fact" to murders committed by zealots who violently demand that they never be offended by anyone, anywhere.
