'Game of Thrones' Actor Iwan Rheon Has a Surprising Take on the Latest Big Plot Twist

On Sunday night, Game of Thrones fans got the "Battle of the Bastards" they deserved: Jon Snow and Sansa Stark retook Winterfell, and then they took down television's most evil of evil men, Ramsay Bolton. Jon beat him to a bloody mess before Sansa set his own dogs on him. Despite the whole thing putting him ostensibly out of a steady job for the foreseeable future, Iwan Rheon, who plays Ramsay on the show, approves of his character's death.

"I think it's kind of right he goes down," he told Entertainment Weekly. "Because what else is he going to do after this? He's done so many things. It's justified and it's the right thing to do. It's the right path. He's reached his peak. It's nice for the audience that he goes out on this high, if you will."

And indeed, it was very nice for the audience. Some on Twitter heralded the death scene as a great unifier for social media:

It was also pretty nice for Rheon, who apparently shared in fans' satisfaction. The actor told EW that he felt "really lucky" to have been given "a proper send-off." Also, he added this, revealing his own real loyalties: "Jon Snow needs to win because otherwise there's no hope left in the world."
