Indian Air Force Transport Plane With 29 On Board Goes Missing

According to the Associated Press, Friday morning Indian Air Force lost radar contact with a transport plane carrying 29. 

The Times of India reported the plane had been flying over the Bay of Bengal from Tambaram, a town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, to Andaman & Nicobar Islands, where it was slated to land at 11:30 a.m. local time. Air force officials reportedly lost contact with the flight around 8:45 a.m. 

The Indian Air Force has already enlisted the help of the Navy and Coast Guard to investigate the whereabouts of the missing flight, which the Times of India said can only remain airborne for four hours without filling up on fuel.

Navy spokesperson DK Sharma told New Delhi Television, "As of now, we will term it as overdue."
