'Harry Potter' Supercut Compiles Every Otherworldly Spell Used in Alphabetical Order

Culture

It's probably the right moment to start remembering your Harry Potter spells. Considering the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as a book and a two-part play in London, and the forthcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise, now's the time to brush up.

But the Wizarding World is beset with spells ranging from the curiously worded (Expelliarmus) to the fatal (Avada Kedavra, which sounds cheesy but will kill a person) and some tame Wingardium Leviosas in between. It can be hard to keep them all straight.

Thankfully, for the magically gifted, tongue-twisting wizards out there, a supercut made by editor Davide Rapp puts all the spells used in the Harry Potter movie franchise in alphabetical order. As expected, there were a lot of repeats of some of the more familiar spells, such as the ever-useful Expecto Patronum to ward off looming Dementors.

Muggles might never be able to compete with Hermione Granger's proficiency — or pronunciation skills — but it's enough to of an introduction to learn the ABCs of the Standard Book of Spells
