France's Samir Aït Saïd Suffers Gut-Wrenching Leg Injury At Rio Olympics 2016

French gymnast Samir Aït Saïd suffered a horrific injury at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero on Saturday, shattering the bones in one of his legs as he finished a vault.

According to USA Today Sports, Saïd landed incorrectly, "crumpled to the floor and, as he clutched his leg at the knee, his foot and the lower half of his shin flopped to the left." Truly galling video of the incident spread quickly on social media networks like Twitter.

Medical personnel quickly rushed to attend to the gymnast, who was rushed out of the venue within minutes. For his part, Saïd reportedly remained calm and even waved to the audience as he left, thus proving he at least deserves a gold medal in pain tolerance.

According to BBC Sports, Saïd "won gold on the rings at the 2013 European Championships and silver on the same apparatus in 2015."
