Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Gives Sneak Peek at His Debut Under Armour Signature Sneaker

Impact

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been releasing items here and there since he first announced his partnership with Under Armour in Oct. 2015. But it wasn't until Friday that the wrestler-turned-actor unveiled one of the more anticipated items from his "Project Rock" collection: the signature sneaker.

"Somebody else wants to be introduced," Johnson said in an Instagram video after showing off his new pair of "Curry Lux" sneakers from basketball player Stephen Curry. "Oh, what the world has been asking for, waiting for. An exclusive sneak peak at the Rock's new shoe."

The gold and black pair of kicks has the words "Earn it" on one tongue and "Blood, Sweat and Respect," on the other. "Been training in these beasts for a year now so by the time they drop to you at the top of 2017 —  you'll know I've given my blood and sweat in them," he captioned the video.

Johnson is joining a long list of celebrities from Zendaya and Sarah Jessica Parker to Rihanna and Kanye West to have designed a shoe collection. But unlike his famous counterparts, Johnson has no experience as a designer or even credibility in the style space, something he's hoping to establish with this upcoming collaboration.

So, if there's anything his already sold-out items prove, it's that it doesn't take much skill, instead just some celebrity status, to create a highly anticipated line of clothing and accessories.
