Thailand Bombing: At Least 1 Dead, 10 Injured in Twin Blasts at Resort Town Hua Hin

Two bombs went off in Hua Hin, a popular Thai resort town, on Thursday, the BBC reports. The bombs were reportedly hidden in potted plants, and detonated via cellphone, according to the BBC, citing information from Thai police. The two explosions happened 20 minutes apart, Reuters reported.

The blasts left at least one person dead and 10 injured, among them foreign tourists. According to the BBC, citing local sources, the woman who was killed was "running a food stall in the area of the blasts." 

Despite frequent bombings in southern Thailand, the BBC stated bombings targeting tourist destinations like Hua Hin, which boasts a number of luxury hotels, are "rare."
