You've probably never wondered whether fans of your favorite subcultures — say, Trekkies, or Twi-hards — are more likely to vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump in November.

This was surprising to the head researcher of the study, Diana Mutz, to say the least. "After taking so many different factors into account, the relationship was still quite significant," she told Mashable. (The fact that many Twitter users have openly compared Trump to Voldemort probably didn't help.)

Naturally, J.K. Rowling, who has come out against Trump frequently on Twitter, is thrilled by the results of the survey.
